If I end up getting evicted from my apartment, does anyone know how long that stays on your credit history? Also, if I end up breaking my lease before eviction, does breaking a lease reflect poorly on your credit? Just curious. Thank you!

   YES to both 7-10 years on your credit history, after eviction they will get a court order to make you pay any past due rent. And you should be paying your rent on time, every time!!! that’s what you get for being irresponsible. If you can’t afford it there, then why do you continue to stay until the landlord evicts you? People like you deserve what you get.

   It depends on whether your landlord is in a position to actually report to a credit agency. Generally rent does not show up on a credit report (positive or negative), but it will show up as a judgement and affect your credit if your landlord successfully sues you for the remainder of the rent due. This will however come up in a background check or a verification of rent which will usually be 24 months.
